Apple caught infringing others' copyright. Again!

Hot on the heals of Apple's patent win against Samsung, the Swiss Federal Railways sue Apple for copying its iconic, and trademarked, Railway Clock.

The irony of this is delicious.

I first saw this on Macrumors.com who picked it up from Blick who originally reported the story in Swiss.

The Swiss are famous for their punctuality, so the clock, which was designed in the 1940s is considered iconic. The Swiss railway owns the copyright and has trademarked the clock, licensing it to manufacturers to exploit commercially, so the oversight is no inconsequential.

The designer Hans Hilfiker is also the inventor of the fitted kitchen, and responsible for the standard kitchen unit size of 55/60/90 cm.
